We consulted real-life, vinyl-loving dads as well as album sales from The Official Charts to compile a shortlist of the ultimate albums for Father’s Day, then handed it over to you to vote for your favourite.
The votes are now in, and we can reveal that the album that gives you all the fondest memories of your own dads (and probably the album you want your own kids to remember) is...
The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd

Okay, so we weren't exactly surprised that this classic Floyd record made it to the top spot. The albums that came close on its heels were pretty classic too:
Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Bat Out of Hell by Meat Loaf
Born in the U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen
(What's The Story) Morning Glory? by Oasis
Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel
Lots of you joined in the conversation on social media as well to tell us which albums we missed from the list, and which made you think most fondly (or, perhaps, with fond embarrassment...) of your own dads.
"My step dad had a tape of Lou Reeds Transformer on one side and Rock n Roll Animal on the other. These have stuck with me my whole life." @GlenPinder
"Greenday - Basket Case as my dad always says he thought they wrote that song about him! Mortifying haha" @nattylara
"Fleetwood Mac's Rumours instantly reminds me of my Dad. I hope my children appreciate all the times I play them The Stone Roses debut." @toadsy_boro
"You missed off Johnny Cash Live at San Quentin - heard it so often as a child - as did my children" @KazzyMints
"Best memories of my Dad spinning Rumours on a Sunday afternoon, one of my Mums faves so he’d always spin it for her. Also plenty of Beatles, his favourite band, and my introduction to music" @FranCarlyon
"An early memory is dad cycling a round trip of over 20 miles across Fife to buy an Elvis Presley EP which he ordered. They are both gone but the vinyl survives along with the timeless music" @cronullajohn
"the album that reminds me of my dad is anything by eagles or elo, everytime we went in the car one of them would be playing" @cxroldxnvers
"My dad has terrible taste in music - phil collins, no jacket required. Does it get more dad than that?" @Iamthecatwhisper
Congratulations to David in Newcastle who won a £50 Record Token to spend on lovely new vinyl, and to Lorna in Cardiff, Tracey in East Sussex, Rache in Norfolk, Jamie in Walsall and Charlie in Sheffield who each bagged a £20 Record Token.
Is he into classic rock? Maybe he's a fan of heavy metal? Or just maybe he's a hip hop enthusiast? There's one thing we do know, and it's that music lovers are all different, so get him the gift of choice this Father's Day with a Record Token.
